Hugh's studio
The
studio, a small facility built around a Mac G4 running Digital
Performer by MOTU, includes a Control Room with a five-by-five metre
control and five-by-five metre recording space. TC Powerecore, Waves
Native Power Pack and many more Plug Ins combine with the main
mixer, a Mackie 24 channel 8 bus. Most tracking is performed with a
AMEK 9098 Rupert Neve pre-amps. Microphones for recordings inculde
Neumann, Microtec Gefell, Octava, Shure and AKG 451 mics with
Quested monitors are Quested driven by a David Haffler amplifier.
A 1980's
Fender Twin Reverb amplifier is available for use as well as a
variety of vintage Martin acoustics, Fender and Gibson electrics
fretted and fretless bass guitars.
Hugh
generously offers his expert skills as a guitarist, bassist,
mandolinist, violinist and vocalist to the artists he produces.
Hugh's production philosophy
Hugh assists
artists realise their own musical vision by understanding their
individual goals and transforming these goals into a recording. This
involves listening carefully to the artist's ideas and music and
discussing arrangement, production ideas and stylistic concepts.
